The Research Group for Healthy Ageing at the Institute of Clinical Molecular Biology (ICMB) focuses on the identification and molecular characterization of genes involved in human ageing and longevity. In particular the group investigates genes and pathways influencing the immune response and barrier ageing. A further research area is the examination of gene-environment inter-actions with special emphasis on nutrition. The group has access to state-of-the-art technologies (e.g. genotyping, expression and sequencing platforms) and ageing mouse models and harbors one of the largest sample collections of long-lived individuals.
